The footholds in this set stand 1" plus off the wall. When installed on a vertical wall, this is an appropriate size for the athletic beginner with tennis shoes. This set is an excellent choice as the smallest hold on ropes course towers.
What you can expect from these shapes is a realistic texture of granite. The incuts to the shapes are neutral to slightly incut, making them best suited for low-angled walls such as vertical to 25-degrees overhanging. On a 25-degree wall, an advanced climber can use many of these as V5+ micro-crimp handholds. They are designed to be footholds, so fingertip comfort is not considered.
The set challenges your core on a 45-degree overhanging wall because there are few incuts to dig into. For the intermediate climber, stabbing your foot back when you cut loose comes into the V4 range.
