Set #3 in the three-pack steep wall series is more challenging to grip than Set #1 and similar to Set #2. The place to grasp on the holds in Set #3 is smaller than Set #2; however, with the reduction in the hold's size, they offer some sweet incuts that are positive to dig into. Set #2 feels more open-handed slopey, where Set #3 has places you can thumb-crimp.
On vertical walls, you can expect a challenging V1 feeling grip. You can consider them a challenging hold for a child. We do not recommend this set for kids on vertical unless you are looking for a hold that will slow them down.
The difficulty of this set quickly jumps to V4 on a 25-degree wall and V6+ on a 45-degree wall. On a 45-degree overhanging wall, if you prefer crimps, Set #3 will feel easier than Set #2. if you are an open-handed climber, Set #2 is the set for you.
The lip is in the 1/2" to 5/8" deep range in really steep terrain.
