Crimps Set #1 delivers in a wide way! Most of our crimps found in the Atomik line have room for four fingers for the average hand; however, we have gone big with Set #1 and Set #2. Every one of the crimps has room for all of your fingers, your thumb, and then there is room left over. These are the kind of crimps that are relatively easy to match on.
Set #1 is the most incut of the two sets. The incuts have been planned for 45-degree walls but they work on all angles of walls.
On a vertical wall, they are great for beginners. You will get a V1 crimp that is very incut. Most children can grab on to them.
On a 20-degree wall, they come in at V2. The average hold will have a very steep incut which means this is the kind of hold that you can run circuits on. The texture is amazing for skin-friendliness.
On a 45-degree wall, the party just got started. The incuts range from neutral to 15-degrees incut when set on a 45-degree wall. There is also a depth difference on the incuts from 1/2" to 1" which gives you even more variety between the shapes. The easiest you will get out of them is V4.
To describe the shape, the oval design adds extra width for your hand, plus follows the natural angle of your hand when crimping.
