XXXL Granite Rail #2 (Neutral Incut)

Overview

XXXL Granite Rail #2 is a wide 32" inch-long hold, mostly a ledge with a tiny section with a detailed bump 2" inches from the lip. This "sweet spot" has a 1/4" lip, which feels easiest when you open-hand crimp it. 

This kind of hold is fun to set vertically so that the climber is forced to put their hands multiple times on it, though it is at its easiest when set horizontally. 

Holds of this magnitude can easily be turned into mantles, hand-foot matches, barndoor moves, sidepulls, and underclings. 

This hold should only be considered for the beginner on vertical walls as it feels V3 on any steeper wall. On a 25-degree wall, you should expect no easier than a V3 feeling hold, though you can get V8 from it with clever route setting. On a 45-degree wall, setting this hold horizontally is an excellent choice as the sweet spot begs to be grabbed.
