The limestone texture design on these holds significantly affects the way you grip them. The intricate details on the landing areas and the realistic thumb catches provide a unique climbing experience that mimics real rock, yet offers more comfort than climbing on actual stone.
The XL size offers ample space for one hand, with plenty of extra room for matching, though not so much room that you would think of these as double-handers. This set has more surface area than the Large Limestone Slopers, making them ideal for setting easier routes on lower angles, while also feeling suitable for steeper terrain.
We discovered that when using this set on our 25° wall, the holds felt juggy and incut in the V3 range. However, on our 45° wall, they became slopey and significantly more challenging, resulting in boulder problems V5 and harder.
